This page gives to the users all the information required by law regarding the use of cookies. CGT S.p.a. , as Data controller, collects data on the use of internet through cookies.

When a user visits our website, we send cookies to its device, which are stored by its browser. Cookies are small text files sent to the user's terminal equipment (usually to the user's browser) by visited websites; they are stored in the user's terminal equipment to be then re-transmitted to the websites on the user's subsequent visits During its browsing of our website www.cgt.it, the user may receive cookies that are sent by other third parties. Our website only sends technical cookies and some third parties’ cookies, listed herebelow. 


Technical cookies

Technical cookies are cookies used exclusively with a view to "carrying out the transmission of a communication on an electronic communications network, insofar as this is strictly necessary to the provider of an information society service that has been explicitly requested by the contracting party or user to provide the said service." (see Section 122(1) of the Italian Data Protection Code). They are not used for further purposes and are usually installed directly by the data controller or the website manager.

They can be divided  in three categories:

  1. browsing or session cookies, which allow users to navigate and use a website (e.g. to purchase items online or authenticate themselves to access certain sections;
  2. analytics cookies, which can be equated to technical cookies insofar as they are used directly by the website manager to collect aggregate information on the number of visitors and the pattern of visits to the website;
  3. functional cookies, which allow users to navigate as a function of certain pre-determined   criteria, such as language or products  purchased, with the aim   to improve the quality of the website’ service.

The user acknowledges that his prior consent is not required to install these cookies and that the subsequent collection of personal data is essential for the use of the website.

Use of cookies

The data collected through the cookies will be used with IT technologies by the Data controller, by the employees in charge of the maintenance and management of the website, and in general by all  employees  (including where applicable, employees of third parties, such as ourselves and other subcontractors) who are involved in the website’s operations and management. All such third parties have been duly appointed as Data processor. The list of our Data processor is available, by request, by sending an email to privacy@cgt.it.

  5. Opera: options- advanced – cookies: these settings allow to manage cookies in Opera. The standard settings calls for all cookies to be accepted. Users   may exercise their statutory rights provided for by section 7 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (the Italian Data Protection Law) such as, for example, the right to access their personal data and the right to require their correction, modification, integration and, in the cases provided for under the Law, their blocking or erasing.

Information notice on how we use your personal data

CGT Compagnia Generale Trattori S.p.A. and the other companies of our Group (CGT Edilizia, CGT Trucks, CLS), in their capacity as data controllers, inform you that that personal data (hereinafter “the Data”) that you shall supply to us when you register on our sites shall be used for the commercial and promotional purposes, namely:

 (a) to allow you to take full advantage and receive the services reserved to registered users, as well as to allow us to answer you when you require information about our products;

(b) to send you promotional materials or to conduct market studies, by e-mail or messaging system.

The collection of the Data for the purposes under (a) (b) is discretionary, with no consequences in case you shall refuse to supply us your Data; obviously we shall not be able to serve you and to supply to you the services and information indicated above.

THEREFORE, IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN RECEIVING PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS FROM US, PLEASE DO NOT CONSENT TO THE PROCESSING UNDER SECTION (b).

Processing of the Data shall take place mainly with IT infrastructure and systems, i.e. with our computers, programs and applications, which include appropriate means to protect the safety and security of the Data, as required by the Italian Law on the protection of personal data (legislative Decree 196 of June 30th, 2003). Your Data shall circulate within the organization of the Data Controllers and more specifically within the marketing and sales departments, as well as within the functions in charge of the management of the site.

The Data may be comunicated to the following parties, for the purposes under sections a) and b):

(i) other companies and/or consultants that support CGT in the preparation and mailing of promotion materials and promotional events;  such third parties shall process the Data in the capacity of Data Processors.

Should you decide to close your account with us, your Data shall be stored only for administrative purposes only, for the period eventually required for under Italian Law.

According to section 7 of the Italian Data Protection Code you are entitled to certain rights, including, but not limited to, the right to require a legible copy of your data, the right to amend, modify or correct them and, in certain cases called for by the law, to require their deletion, but only in case we shall process the Data in violation of the Law.
